I have written this book for girls ages 13-17 in a way to give them some sisterly advice having been through a lot myself over the years, and to bring their attention to the fact that it is ok to not be ok sometimes, but to learn coping mechanisms to help with whatever life throws your way. Whether that is bad periods, or suffering with anxiety.
I personally feel life can be slightly challenging, especially with the younger generation and the pressures of social media now added to their lives. I have discussed openly in detail various topics, some more thoroughly than others, such as periods, but have also shined a light on mental health issues such as depression and anxiety, and have also mentioned suicide within the book, as seemingly these are all becoming more common as the years go by, and I feel it is important to have a slight understanding and awareness.
As well as puberty and mental health, I have written about bullying, the pressures of social media, and also body confidence, all of which I feel are such important subjects for young girls to read about.
I have then ended the book with a very motivating happy chapter, including sections such as gratitude and journaling, which I feel is massively important when it comes to self-development.
If you are a parent and are wondering if your daughter is suitable to read this book, I would personally say and have had friends and family agree with me, that even from the age of 10 years old, everything I cover within the book is something they should know about to help them whilst they mature and progress in their life. Some topics are perhaps still a little taboo, but my aim with this book is to help change that. It also saves you having any potential awkward conversations with your daughter, but may also bring you closer, as my hope is that they will become more comfortable with speaking about these topics and not feel embarrassed, and therefore, not alone.

Having faced her own challenges over the years, she candidly shares some of her own personal stories of growing up, offering encouragement, advice and support like a big sister would.
This book shines a light on a wide range of topics, including puberty, self-confidence, bullying, mental health, forward planning, habits, sleep, and learning to find happiness.
