What is happiness?

I have been focusing on finding myself recently and I am realising what I thought would make me happy, really doesn't. I am finding happiness in things I never thought I would, and am really enjoying the person I am becoming. It sometimes really is just the little things in life that can bring so much joy, and always focusing on the bigger things in life can often cause more upset. Wishing you had things such as a serious relationship, owned a house, had an incredible job, lots of money? These are all material things and money cannot buy happiness or love. Yes, a new bag or trainers brings happiness, but not long term, it fades after the excitement of something new wears off. Think about the smaller things that make you happy each day. Messages from friends, a break with a cup of tea, or even your eyeliner looking how you want it to that morning. By focusing on these things, the bigger things come, but breaking them down can create happiness for longer, and in turn, make it more of a reality and a daily emotion. We all like to dream big and I am not saying don't, just perhaps break it down so that it feels less heavy, and allow yourself to live in the moment rather than living in the future or even the past, or you will miss out on so much in life. After reading this, I want you to write down 5 things you are grateful for, then express how you are feeling afterwards. We are all grateful for things such as family, friends, somewhere to live etc, but think about the little things. Did you get 5 minutes to yourself today? Did you feel great in your outfit? Did you receive any calls or messages that made you smile? These are the things to be grateful for, and in time, you will realise the happiness in your life is right there, you were just focusing on the wrong things. The bigger things will also come, just ensure they are not your focus 24/7. Sure you can dream and manifest and that is great, just remember to be true to yourself and to stay in the moment.
