My Thursday night last week consisted of being in the hospital. Baby's movements didn't seem normal for me (she was far more active), and I was having tightenings every few minutes, so decided to call the MAU (Maternity Assessment Unit) and the midwife asked me to then go to the hospital to be monitored. The doctor confirmed I was actually having contractions and they thought initially that I was in preterm labour, as they were every few minutes lasting about 30 seconds, and this continued for hours and hours. I was luckily able to go home due to not being in pain and no other symptoms eg waters breaking, bleeding etc, but now need to keep an eye on it all and go back if worried or any changes. The doctor was surprised with how the contractions were showing on the monitor, that I wasn't wanting any pain relief, but I couldn't even feel some of them. Any of those with endometriosis had similar experiences?? I'll get my c-section date soon, so will know more then but it sounds like she might be here sooner than expected! Need to get my hospital bag sorted asap! Will need a steroid injection to help her lungs if she is early, and they nearly did opt for me to have the injection last night, but because my cervix was still closed and the swabs came back clear, it wasn't needed as they could confirm I wasn't in active labour and it also wasn't going to happen imminently. The doctor did say that my body is getting ready though, and that I need to slow down and realise I am now over 8 months pregnant and to take it easy!
Let's have some fun and place a bet...
